  • Call for nominations to CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group and Panels
  • Call for nominations to CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group and Panels

The call for nominations to CLIVAR (Climate and Ocean: Variability, Predictability and Change) Scientific Steering Group (SSG) and CLIVAR panels and groups is now open. Deadline for nominations for appointments starting in 2017 (and 2018 for the SSG) is 20 July 2016. All nominations can be submitted online.

When considering nominations, CLIVAR panels take into account the scientific expertise that will support fulfilment of the panel's terms of reference, and then seek endorsement from the CLIVAR SSG for the proposed new list of members. Scientifically qualified nominations that support gender and geographical balance and promote opportunities for early career scientists and researchers from developing countries to participate in CLIVAR activities are encouraged. The initial term of service for members is three years, with possible extension of two years.

The IOCCP promotes the development of a global network of ocean carbon observations for research through technical coordination and communication services, international agreements on standards and methods, and advocacy and links to the global observing systems. The IOCCP is co-sponsored by the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO. Read more…
