  • SCOR-JAMSTEC CRMs available from a brand new website on 28 November
  • SCOR-JAMSTEC CRMs available from a brand new website on 28 November

We are very happy to announce that SCOR-JAMSTEC Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) will be available to anyone wanting to use them from a brand new English language JAMSTEC-based website at this address: http://www.jamstec.go.jp/scor/.

The SCOR working group #147: "Towards comparability of global oceanic nutrient data" (COMPONUT), through the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), are starting to provide a series of certified reference materials (CRM) for nutrients in seawater (see labels and bottle below), with a new cost structure making them more accessible and affordable for the global science and research community.

This CRM is produced by KANSO Co. Ltd. (Kanso Technos), Japan, on a commission basis, using treated natural seawater, and quality control procedures related to ISO GUIDE 34. KANSO has been accredited under the ASNITE as a Certified Reference Materials Producer (CRMP) since 2011 (Accreditation No.: ASNITE 0052 R). The certified values are arithmetic means of the results of 30 bottles each (measured in duplicates) analyzed by KANSO and JAMSTEC by continuous flow colorimetric analytical methods, which are traceable to SI.

JAMSTEC have opened a web-site http://www.jamstec.go.jp/scor/ and a mailing list, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., to offer the CRM bottles for sale to the global community.

For scientific issues related to the CRM, please visit the JAMSTEC Nutrient CRM web page or contact one of co-chairs of SCOR WG#147.
