OceanOPS, the operational monitoring and support centre of GOOS, is seeking a senior expert to support the renewal of its 5-year Strategic Plan - a critical moment for aligning global ocean observing priorities with partner needs and future challenges.
This role will help set the strategic direction of OceanOPS and strengthen alignment across stakeholders, directly supporting the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) community.
Main tasks:
- Interview ~20 international OceanOPS stakeholders
- Synthesize insights and contribute to a strategy retreat
- Contribute directly to the OceanOPS 2026–2030 Strategic Plan
Key requirements:
- Strong background in oceanography / marine meteorology
- Deep knowledge of global ocean observing networks
- Knowledge of OceanOPS services
- Proven experience in strategic planning
