We are excited to share that the call for abstracts and mini workshop proposals for the 12th International Carbon Dioxide Conference (ICDC12) is now open. The conference will be held on 21-25 June 2027 at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom.

ICDC12 will bring together the global carbon cycle community to share the latest research and ideas. The conference provides a range of opportunities to showcase your research, exchange ideas, and engage with scientists from around the world. ICDC12 welcomes submission of original research on the global carbon cycle on temporal scales ranging from the paleo ice-core record to the future policy relevant time horizon, and on spatial scales ranging from local to global level. The organisers encourage submissions on new scientific advancement on the carbon cycle, including new observations, products, models, and analytical approaches.

Conference Themes:

  • Theme 1. Advancing quantification of global to regional carbon budgets
  • Theme 2. Drivers and mechanisms of past and future carbon cycle dynamics
  • Theme 3. Stewarding the carbon cycle for Earth system sustainability

We strongly encourage you to take part in this important conference and submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation, or propose an interactive mini workshop to help shape the conference programme.

The deadline for submissions is 15 December 2026.
