We are pleased to share that the Global Ocean Biogeochemistry Array (GO-BGC) program will host a hands-on Float Data and Science Workshop from August 17–21, 2026, at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA.
Designed as an interactive hackathon-style event, the workshop will bring participants together in small teams to tackle scientific questions using BGC-Argo data. The program will feature an introduction to BGC-Argo and GO-BGC, expert lectures, guidance on accessing and working with float data, collaborative coding sessions, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the UW float lab.
Participants should have prior programming experience, though familiarity with BGC-Argo data is not required. Due to the collaborative, project-based format, the workshop will be held exclusively in person, and attendees are expected to participate for the full duration
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the registration form by the end of April 2026.
